Since our class is a learning opportunity, as well as a support group for us all, I want to encourage us to use this class blog to report on triumphs, failures, and ask questions - so we can all support each other. This is the first time I've ever used a blog, so I hope I'm doing this right ~ ?
I was hoping to give you some guidelines as you prepare for starting your cleanse:
Set SMART Goals:
We will need to write down specific goals or rules for the cleanse we choose. We can use the SMART model for setting goals which detail what we will and will not do, as well as for how long. We also will need to develop a way to measure progress. If you are considering another type of cleanse other than the ones suggested, let us know what you've found so far.
SMART goals are made up of the following info:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Realistic
T - Timeframe
An example might look like the following:
I am going to clear my sugar cravings and gas by doing the Candida Cleanse Diet.
S - Specific - my action plan is as follows:
Diet:
- No sugar, flour, grains(except oat bran or meal), and any processed foods (carbs)
- No cheese, vinegar, mushrooms, mayonnaise, or mustard (mold)
- Eat chicken, turkey, & fish and beans (especially sprouted - the enzymes are wonderful!)
- Eat lemons, grapefruit, and frozen berries, but no other fruit or juices
- Eat all vegetables except potatoes, carrots, and other starchy root crops
- Eat lots of garlic! (contains capryllic acid) Eat nuts like almonds & pecans - Use olive oil
- Drink lots of pure (alkaline - if possible) water - for me, 80 ounces a day
- Kill Yeast - Yeast/Fungal Detox, Capryllic Acid Combo, Pau D'Arco, Garlic
- Support Immune - Una de Gato, Silver Shield
- Clear Out Die Off - Enzymes(between meals), Kidney Drainage, Lymphatic Drainage
- Heal Intestinal Membranes - L-Glutamine, Everybody's Fiber
- Establish Good Flora - Probiotics Eleven
- Exercise - 20 min. cardio at least 3x/week and strength/flex at least 2x/week
- Far Infa-Red Sauna - at least 1x/week
- Slowly adding back foods
- Watch for any intolerances like eye crusties and mucos in your mouth or throat
- Also look for gas, bloating, mood swings, indigestion, or joint pain as food is introduced
M - Measureable -
- Waistline measurement and
- Morning spit tests as measurements for progress
- This goal is possible to complete
- This goal is realistic for me
- Cleanse for 6 weeks, starting March 30th
- Transition to final diet for 2 weeks
Thank you all for being a part of this class, and I pray that I may be of help to each of you on your journey to better health.
Good health and God bless,
Beth
